Nicknamed “Halong Bay on land”, Tam Coc and Bich Dong have stunning and spectacular scenery. These two famous sites have many karst caves and historical relics. During the rice harvest season, the landscape is dyed a beautiful yellow.

1. Tam Coc caves

The most famous site in the region to admire this one of a kind scenery. The stream meanders between towering karstic peaks dotting them with water eroded grottoes.

2. Biking in a magical setting

Passing through rice paddies, small villages, paved road and karst peaks, riding bike are just stunning. A good opportunity to observe these strangely shaped limestone pillars and scenes of daily life.

3. Bich Dong, the troglodyte pagoda

Located on the side of a steep mountain, Bich Dong is the oldest pagoda in Tam Coc area. Behind its doors, beautiful gardens, ancient trees and lotus flowers are hiding. The panoramic view on a field of reeds stretching as far as the eye can see is a worth trip.

4. Mua caves

This place just above Tam Coc pier offers a wonderful view of the area. The stairs will take you to the top of a limestone peak where landscapes are picturesque. 

5. Hoa Lu, former capital of Vietnam

This 500 ha valley was the capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010 under the reign of Dinh, Le and Ly. It is also the birthplace of the hero Dinh Bo Linh. Located 12 km from Tam Coc, accessible by car or by bike, it is easily worth a trip to admire its karst landscapes and historic temples.
