Funded by Lao Tseu, in ancient China, Taoism appeared in Vietnam in the first century. This philosophy is based on the concept of “Tao”, which means “the way”. It is the supreme force at the beginning of all things, and the “flow of the universe”.

Taoism seeks a balance between Man and the Universe and emphasizes a simple way of life: naturalness, simplicity, detachment from desires. It is often represented with the Yin and Yang symbol, the complementary forces of “good and evil”. The Yin represents the earth, the dark, the imperfect and the feminine part, while the Yang expresses the sky, the light, the perfection and the masculine part.
